What is Daily Word Guess?
Daily Word Guess gives everyone the same curated five-letter answer for each UTC date. You have six valid guesses and no countdown. After every submission, positional feedback shows which letters are correct, which belong elsewhere and which are absent. Once today’s puzzle is complete, Unlimited Play provides more curated answers with separate statistics.
How to play
Type with the on-screen or physical keyboard and submit a five-letter gameplay-dictionary word. Green means the letter is correct and in the correct position. Gold means it appears in the answer but belongs elsewhere. Grey means that occurrence is unavailable. Duplicate letters are evaluated against the answer’s actual counts rather than coloured indiscriminately.
The Daily Challenge can be completed only once per date. Reloading restores the exact rows, hints and completion state. Unlimited Play also restores its active puzzle, while New Puzzle is available only in Unlimited mode. Optional hints are recorded so assisted and unassisted results remain meaningful.
Solving with information
A useful opening word contains common letters in different positions. On later rows, preserve confirmed greens, reposition gold letters and avoid known greys unless a duplicate remains possible. Pay attention to repeated letters: one tile can be grey while another copy is green or gold when the answer contains the letter only once.
Daily and Unlimited statistics remain separate. Daily results include streak, average successful guesses and distribution based only on this browser. No unverified global percentages are displayed. Solving in three or four guesses is a strong result, but a careful fifth or sixth guess still protects the Daily streak.
Persistence, assistance and accessible clues
Rows are saved after every accepted guess, so reloading after one, three or five entries restores the same board. A completed Daily Challenge cannot be replayed on the same UTC date, and rollover produces the next deterministic identity. Unlimited state also survives refresh, but its New Puzzle action never replaces an unfinished Daily answer.
The on-screen keyboard exposes button labels, tile meanings are explained in a visible legend, and status messages identify invalid guesses without consuming a row. Hints are optional and recorded as assisted play rather than fabricating an unassisted result. Completion focus moves to the result heading, where the player can review guess distribution, average, streak and separate Daily or Unlimited statistics.
Frequently asked questions
How many guesses are available?
Every Daily or Unlimited puzzle allows up to six valid guesses.
Is the Daily Challenge the same for everyone?
Yes. A versioned deterministic identity selects the same curated answer for a given UTC date.
Does sharing reveal the answer?
No. The share payload contains a symbolic result grid, not the answer.
