What is Word Search?

MyWordHub Word Search hides a curated list of words inside an original letter grid. Words may run horizontally, vertically or diagonally, forwards or backwards. Your job is to find every listed answer. There is no countdown and no forced pace, so the puzzle works as a relaxed visual scan or as a personal speed challenge.

How to play

Choose one of three grid sizes. Beginner contains an 8×8 grid and eight words, Intermediate contains a 10×10 grid and twelve words, and Advanced contains a 12×12 grid and fifteen words. Drag from the first letter to the last, or tap a start cell and then an end cell. A valid line is highlighted and its word is crossed off the list.

The selection follows straight horizontal, vertical and diagonal paths. On small screens, Advanced mode adds careful endpoint tolerance while still requiring a unique target, making the full 12×12 puzzle practical without shrinking its challenge. The Hint button identifies the starting coordinate of one remaining word. Hints affect the final score, so use them when they improve the experience rather than tapping them automatically.

Strategy for crowded grids

Begin with distinctive letter combinations rather than short common fragments. Double letters, unusual consonant pairs and recognisable endings narrow the search quickly. Scan the grid in one direction at a time, then reverse direction. When only a few words remain, use the word length to estimate how much room its line needs near an edge or corner.

Elapsed time, completed words and hints feed a deterministic score. Personal bests and fastest finishes are stored locally by difficulty. Restart keeps the current puzzle; New Puzzle builds another board.

Accessible selection and result history

Every letter cell is a real button with its row, column and letter exposed to assistive technology. Keyboard players can choose a start and end cell without performing a drag. Found words are reflected both on the board and in the visible list, while a hint has an additional outline rather than depending on colour alone.

Completion moves focus to the result heading and reports score, elapsed time, hints, fastest finish and personal rank. Restart preserves the current generated puzzle; New Puzzle creates another. Share Result describes the mode and performance without exposing the hidden word placements or player profile. Display-ad reservations sit after the game panel and content, never between the grid, word list and puzzle controls.
